Trane Energy Recovery Ventilator Review

I am very pleased with and would highly recommend the Trane Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) for reducing house odors and providing fresh air into the house while retaining the energy of air conditioning and heat. For maintenance I recommend purchasing the filters online either precut or by media roll using comparative pricing. I purchased a new home that had a lot of new construction odors caused by out gassing of construction materials. The house is tightly constructed. We had aired the house multiple times but were limited with the high summer temperatures and humidity. I decided to try an Energy Recovery Ventilator coupled with a central dehumidifier and it is one of the best decisions I have made. I am so pleased with the performance that I am considering purchasing one for another older home we have.

The Inline Ventilator helps to manage the humidity and temperature levels of the air allowed to enter the home for optimal comfort.

Fresh Air Ventilation System

We recently installed an Envirowise/Trane Inline Ventilator to supply fresh filtered air to our Florida home. It is ducted to the return plenum of the main air handler to ensure that the fresh air is conditioned and then distributed throughout the house. The stale air is exhausted by natural air pressure through the bathroom ventilators. We have noticed a marked improvement in the air quality in our home, and a sharp reduction of odors from cooking. Our system is set to supply 120 cfm of fresh air continually (subject to outdoor air temperature and humidity limits that are set by the homeowner). This supplies 4 air changes per day and complies with ASHRAE 62.2 ventilation standards. The system is also integrated and controlled by our Trane 850 communicating thermostat. We are very pleased with this product.
